Form 16 is an important document that helps in filing the Income Tax returns and acts as a valid proof that an employee has submitted their tax to the Indian government. TDS has been deducted from their salary. This form also describes how you taxed the basis of the investments, with all the details included, like the allowances that impact your tax amount, such as medical bills, loans, and house rents.

Form 16 can only be obtained from the employer from whom TDS has been deducted. If your income falls under the tax exemption limit or not, you need to file Form 16 if you have TDS.
