Form 16 is a type of TDS certificate that is issued to the employer, which includes information like TDS deduction on salary and the annual financial income during the year. You can use the Form 16 as proof for the TDS deduction and income. This form contains all your information, like all tax-related details, salary breakups, and deductions.

      No, you cannot fill an ITR with Form 16, as it contains essential information of the employer. You will require a Form 16 to fill out your ITR, and mention the information given below in your ITR in your Form 16 Part A and B. 

       

      • Name, PAN, and TAN of the employer with address. 
      • Salary statements show the deductions, gross salary, allowances, and basic salary. 

      

      All your documents and other essential documents for the proof of investments.

      Form 16 is the TDS certificate, which is issued by the employer at the time of deductions of the TDS. Whenever an employer deducts TDS from their income, they will require a Form 16, which they can get from their TRACES account by online downloading or get a soft copy. Employers can also get their Form 16 from the outsourced online platforms.
