Section 10 helps to calculate the tax liability of an individual for the various incomes which is not listed on the ITR total income. Section 10 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, provides all the claims of the exemptions that you can get while filing your Income Tax returns.

      Given below are the documents that I have submitted to claim my exemption under Section 10 of the Income Tax Act. 

      • Proof of funds expenses, like hotel and restaurant bills and receipts. 
      • I have provided Form 16. 
      • Salary slips 
      • Any other necessary documents that are required for claiming expenses.

      You can claim your Income tax claims under section 10 by disclosing your income sources and exemptions in the returns with all the proper documents, and, like form 16, salary slips, and all supporting documents.

    Here are the exemptions on the allowances under section 10 of the Income Tax Act: 

    • Section 10(13A) - provides house rent allowance. 
    • Section 10(14)(ii) - Children's education allowance.  
    • Section 10 (5) - Leave travel allowance 
    • Section 10(14) - exemption of any special allowance.
